Bed Weather Holiday - It's a Trap!

Getting up felt like winning an Olympic sport today—gold medal in blanket wrestling! But hey, that extra hour of sleep? Chef’s kiss.

I know, I should be resting, but duty calls—I promised myself I’d work on my paper. The real struggle now? Coffee or no coffee? (Spoiler: We all know how this ends.)

One thing’s clear: my bed is off-limits. The sheer gravitational pull of pillows and warmth is too strong. I must plant myself at my desk and resist.

To keep things interesting, I’ll squeeze in some chores during my breaks—laundry, cooking, cleaning. Because let’s be real, holidays aren’t really for resting. They’re cleverly disguised chore marathons!

Wha Hafen, Vela? I know, Vampyr Ryt? 🧛‍♀️

Wow! Guess who finally slept in and got over 10 hours of sleep? Yep, it was me!

Waking up feeling refreshed and energized was a huge relief after the past few weeks of nonstop chaos. Between work, social obligations, my studies, and research (which I could only squeeze in after work, on days off, and holidays), I was running on fumes. Thank goodness Friday was a holiday! I crammed all my chores into Thursday night and Friday morning so I could dive straight into CPD seminar preparations Friday afternoon.

Saturday started at 4 AM for a 6:30 AM call time, and the entire day was a whirlwind—snapping photos, assisting participants, making sure everything ran smoothly. The seminar wrapped up at 5 PM, and after a quick shower, I jumped straight into classes. I was completely drained by midnight, only to be woken up at 10:30 AM when my sister popped in, apparently looking for Mom—or maybe just checking if I was still breathing, since sleeping in, even on weekends, is practically unheard of for me. I’m usually up by 8 AM to do chores, so honestly? Fair concern.

Yesterday was packed with events, but I had to set boundaries and turn down two other commitments. Thankfully, the lab and hospital stayed quiet throughout the seminar—no work calls, no urgent messages. A small victory!

Being sleep-deprived all week pushed me back into drinking coffee again, just to stay awake and functional. And honestly, I don’t see that stopping anytime soon. In two weeks, I’ll be taking my comprehensive exam, which means leaving home at dawn to get to UST before 8 AM, then taking the exam and defending the title of my research. Coffee is about to become a loyal companion.

I know this entry is more of a rant—basically a journal update—but hey, you probably saw this coming. "You wanted that," right? Hahahaha.
