NSFT PART III

These questions aren't really asked frequently, but the answers are facts that I feel like sharing.

24. Of all the poems you’ve written, which is your favorite?

"Ang Totoong Ikaw"
You can find it in my poetry page. It’s about loving someone despite their flaws.

25. What would have been your profession if you didn’t pursue your current career?

I honestly wasn’t sure—I wanted to do a lot of things. Haha.

26. One thing you regret not doing?

Voice or music lessons. My mom enrolled me in all sorts of summer programs—Karate, Painting, Kiddie Crew, Summer Classes, etc.—but I never had formal music training. I don’t blame my parents, and I’m grateful for all those experiences. I know I can still pursue it now, but time doesn’t really permit it.

27. What is your greatest fear?

Dying unprepared. It’s the thought of leaving my loved ones behind without having spent enough time with them, without having things ready for them. The question “Who’s going to do this for them when I’m gone?” haunts me. Also, the fear of not knowing what awaits after this life.

28. What’s your toxic trait?

I think too far ahead. It’s both a blessing and a curse. LOL. I’ve solved thousands of problems in my head that never even happened. It’s how we were raised—before going anywhere, I’ve already reviewed the streets on Google Maps, checked the nearest hospitals, listed the places I’ll go, planned the order, and timed each stop. But I can be fun too! I can do spontaneous naman din. It’s just that... efficiency is my middle name. Haha!

29. What are your pet peeves?

- People walking in groups that take up the whole public space—ikaw pa ang mahihiyang mag-excuse.
- Those who literally don’t wash their hands.
- Those who figuratively wash their hands.
- Sick people who don’t wear masks.

30. What are you most proud of about yourself?

My patience. People ask how I stay calm in situations where others would snap. It’s not that I suppress my emotions—I regulate them. Because really, what does snapping solve? But of course, there are limits. You shouldn’t tolerate disrespect either.

31. What does it feel like having seen the world in 31 years?

There’s a lot of crap happening in the world, but life goes on. You have to find ways to survive and lighten your load. So to answer the question: it’s stressful—but who isn’t stressed? Kaya heto ako, laban lang ng laban, na tila ipinaglihi sa sanggano. LOL.

I hope you won't ever use these facts against me. HAHA!
Thank you for dropping by and for spending time in reading my entries. Have a great weekend ahead. Love yah. xx

BTW!!! In part I of the NSFT series, I mentioned that if both the volleyball and basketball team won, I'd install the app my juniors have been wanting me to try. LOL. The basketball team  lost 5 points to the champion, but got a trophy for being 1st runner up. Yay! Not yay that they lost but yay i don't have to install. Wheeeew!

NSFT Part II

14. Would you date a younger guy?

They say age doesn’t matter. That’s true—but maturity does. Kaya siguro I prefer older guys. At least mga 4–5 years older than me.

15. Do you believe that opposites attract?

Parang hindi puwedeng total opposites. You should have common interests. Pero minsan, you get to like new things because that person introduced them to you. Okay din ’yon—as long as hindi ka napilitan, just to please him.

16. Does it matter who pays for the dates?

For me, dapat 50/50. Pero I won’t mind kung mas malaki ’yung contribution ko if mas nakakaluwag ako at that moment. Mafifeel mo naman kung nagte-take advantage lang ’yung jowa mo.

Although, some guys think sila dapat ’yung gumagastos.

Kaso, for me ha—kung hindi naman kayo married, dapat patas lang sa spending. Save na lang ’yung extra money for the future or invest it. 😉

I also wouldn’t mind his financial status. As long as may pangarap sa buhay, madiskarte, hindi magnanakaw, hindi madamot, hindi mapangmata, at simple lang ang pamumuhay. HAHAHA. Ang haba yata nun.

17. What is the “most extra” thing you’ve done for someone you were in love with?

I watched all the animes and movies he recommended para madagdagan ’yung mapag-uusapan namin. And I actually enjoyed watching them.

And many more “hala teh, grabeng effort naman ’yon” moments na I don’t need to share—kasi parang binibilangan o sinusumbatan ko naman ’yung tao kapag minention ko pa. :P

18. Do you believe in second chances?

Yeah. People change. Things change. Situations change. Diba nga, right person at the right place and time?

19. Do you believe in signs?

Zodiac? Hindi. Pero if you pray for something and signs keep showing up—like it’s telling you, “This is the right thing to do”—’yung intuition ba, ayun, yes.

20. When would you say na sumakses ka na sa life?

Kapag chill na ’yung work ko at hindi na doon umiikot ’yung mundo ko.

21. Would you agree to be a housewife?

I wouldn’t mind—if it’s to take care of my kids (kung magkakaroon man). Pero I still want to be useful. Ayoko naman na si hubs lang ang magdadala ng lahat.

Kahit mag-manage ako ng business on the side. Ganon. Basta nacha-challenge pa rin ’yung utak ko.

22. Are you the strict type of girlfriend?

Nung mejo mas bata pa ako, I was the jealous type—kasi I had insecurities. Pero as I grew older, parang nag-mature naman ako. I didn’t ask for passwords. Buhay niya ’yon.

Jojowa ka lang ng mapagkakatiwalaan mo. Basta for me, if may gusto na siyang iba, i-end na agad ang relationship kaysa mag-cheat pa siya. Mas masakit maloko. Diba? Diba?

I’d encourage him to have and hang with his own set of friends, but I’d also introduce him to my circle.

Sa mga lakad naman, just let me know. He doesn’t have to ask for permission. I wouldn’t date someone who hangs with people who are a bad influence anyway.

23. Thoughts on vices?

It’s alright to drink occasionally, but I say no (never dapat ito) to drugs and gambling.

Also, smoking is a no-go—aside from having allergic rhinitis, I apparently also have mild asthma. Mag-blow ka na lang ng bubbles, please. HAHA.

I have friends who smoke, and I respect their decisions as adults. But I’ve never been peer pressured to try it. And they smoke in areas away from people who don’t smoke naman.

I’m ending Part II here. Watch out for Part III if you find these thoughts interesting. :P

Not So Fast Talk

Today, I turned 31.

Yesterday, we had a simple celebration in the lab. Big thanks to my lab babies and ancillary fam for the surprise! Today, I had a quiet lunch with my family and shared cakes with my neighbors. I’ve been gifted five cakes by family and friends—haha, sugar overload!

To celebrate my 31st year of existence, here’s a little something: a very informal and mejo kanal entry, showing my true self (while not oversharing naman).

Not So Fast Talk: 31 Frequently Asked Questions – Part I

1. Wala ka bang balak mag-abroad?

Dati, wala. Sa ngayon, wala pa ring ginagawa. Pero I might reconsider—lalo na’t nakakaloka ang gobyerno natin at ang hirap talaga mabuhay sa bansa.

2. May pamilya ka na ba? Anak? Asawa? Jowa?

NADA. WALEY.

3. Have you tried the apps?

Nope. Di ko kinacount yung one time na pinatulan ko yung “Facebook Dating”—you create an account, select your crush who’s connected to you on Facebook, and if they like you back, you’ll know. HAHAHAHA. I uninstalled after a few days. Di kasi ako nacrush back ng crush ko. HAHAHUHU. Never tried talking to anyone. I’m that loyal—even to a crush. LOL.

My Gen Z staff keep pushing me to install the B app. I really don’t want to. I don’t think I have the time or energy to talk to random people online huhu. But two of my junior MTs joined the interhospital sports fest, and to encourage them to win, I said I’d install the app if they won. HAHAHAHA. Now I’m not sure if I should cheer them on or not.

4. What are your non-negotiables?

As long as he believes in God, loves his family, and treats people right—okay na!

5. Masyado yatang mataas standards mo, kaya ka single?

Sino ba naman ako para magmataas ng standards, no? It’s just that I don’t want to force myself to like someone I don’t vibe with. I’d rather be single than be with someone I’m not in love with. And honestly, after my last heartbreak, everything changed. I’m not bitter, but my perspective on things has shifted.

6. Are you planning to have kids in the future?

It depends. If I get married and if we’re financially and mentally ready. Sarili nga natin, ang hirap buhayin, ‘di ba? Ang daming dapat ikonsidera—lalo na sa panahong ito.

7. Do you believe in destiny?

Ay oo naman—yes na yes. Pero parang mali din yata ‘yun kasi hindi ako ume-effort lumabas and meet new people. HAHAHA. Baka sa kakanood ko ng romcoms ‘to. I believe the right person will show up at the right place and time. Kaso parang gusto na akong batukan ng friends ko kasi it doesn’t work that way daw. True love doesn’t magically appear.

8. Which profession do you wish your future boyfriend/potential husband would have?

May kanta para diyan: “I don’t care who you are, where you’re from, what you did…(tama ba?), as long as you love me." HAHAHA. Pero pass siguro sa medical field. Health workers often care for others but forget themselves.

9. What is your love language?

Secret. If we’re close, you’d know.

10. What makes your heart flutter?

When people are thoughtful—gifting me things they know I’d find useful, or recommending stuff they know I’d like, just from observation or a random conversation on a random day that they saved space for in their brain. To be remembered means a lot.

11. What is an ideal date or quality time for you?

Kahit ano, basta we make time for each other and get to know each other more. Kahit tusok-tusok sa kanto date (KFC ba—Kikiam, Fishball, Calamares kung trip niya), or watch a super long documentary. Pwede rin magbasa ng kanya-kanyang libro in silence, or if he’s like me and loves writing poems, maybe create something together. That would be fun! Kaso, you know, I don’t want to overshare what I’m into. Some people find it easy to pretend to be someone they’re not.

So shhh lang.

12. What are your hobbies?

During the pandemic, I learned to play the ukulele. I wanted to play my favorite songs but didn’t have anyone to accompany me, so I pushed myself to learn. I have three types of uke—Soprano, Tenor, and Baritone! Pero I haven’t done covers lately—no time.

I also like reading, but I haven’t finished a book since I moved to my current job.

I love writing poems. Mas feel ko ‘pag may inspiration. Kaso walang ganaps na nakakainspire lately, so… yeah, not much poems in here.

13. What do you do on weekends?

You mean aside from chores? Once a month may execom ng Saturday. If walang other ganaps like PAMET stuff or check-up, I binge-watch, eat… pero mostly chores talaga kasi weekend lang ang time to do them. And of course, I look after my super cute niece when her mom has errands or chores to do.

Gift From the K-drama Gods

I am always sad after watching good K-dramas, wondering if there would be more good ones coming. Thanks to the K-drama Gods, there is. Hihi and it has Choi Woo-shik as its lead. Iiihhhhhh kilig much. I'm loving the story and plot twists. I'm so happy that my favorite oppas have back to back to back to back projects. Hoping walang bumasag na naman sa kanila at gumawa ng issues just to bring them down. Ughhh. Ito na lang ang nagpapakilig sa akin... by choice 😆 I am single but I am not lonely. I'd rather be single than be with the wrong person. Diba? Diba? Aside from trauma, experience and observations, I think K-dramas are also at fault for making my standards even higher. HAHAHAHAHA. HAAAAHHH. I will be turning 31 soon but I am not pressured at all. Because I believe that the right person will show up at the right time. Kung wala, it's okay. Kung meron, edi thank you talaga. 😆 Please let it be one of my Kdrama Oppas. Chariz. "Nurse, gising na yung pasyente nyo!"

Apologies. This entry is informal and should have been a journal entry. But I just want to share with the readers the new K-drama I am watching. It's on-going pa. So if you're someone na ayaw nabibitin, wait ka na muna. But if you're like me who watches while it's on-going para hindi napupuyat sa pag binge, edi go go go! Para you'll understand why I'm still on kilig mode while typing this. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. 🫶 Enjoy! No need to thank me. 😝

We have an early call time for tomorrow's Pink Walk, yet here I am writing this entry. 😆

Would You Marry Me is available on Disney+

I just realized the title is a word play.
Would You = Wooju : Male Lead
Marry = Meri : Female Lead
