Life Lately

Oh, my life lately,
a bottomless pit of reports
and presentations

But I also rest,
By taking time off from work,
Because life is short

Despite my busy schedule with work and classes, I prioritize spending more time with family. I file a VL whenever my family needs me. My parents are getting older, and every moment spent with them is precious.

Room Makeover!

I believe that anything I would spend on for comfort is a good investment, so here I am, redecorating my room. I want to document the process but I'm too lazy to take videos and edit them.

My love for decorating a space began when I was in college, 2011, I'd always move around pieces of furniture in my room and would make do of the items that I can find at home. I'd DIY and repurpose some items that aren't being used anymore because I didn't have the money to buy stuff. And now that I've already bought some stuff for my parents and for our house, I'd like to focus on redecorating my room, to make it cozy, while still avoiding stuff that would just gather dust and trigger allergic rhinitis. 😩 So no to plants and fluffy stuff. I'm not really into buying decors that have no purpose anyway. I'm trying to be a minimalist na. I have so much stuff that I should let go of na. I might have to Mari Kondo—thank you and goodbye, before putting up the stuff I bought. Pero shucks, I didn't document the unboxing. 😆 Sayang!

The construction of our home's second floor has been completed early this year and is a complete house on its own. I was supposed to move there to isolate from our pets, to lessen the background noise when recording and because the rooms and bathroom are bigger. The bathroom has a space for the bathtub I've been wanting to have. But we decided to save the rooms for guests and set up mom and dad's office/library there.

We've been hosting sleepovers since April. 🤍 Finally, after how many years of not having guests because we didn't have enough space. 🥹 Also, it's kinda hot there at daytime. I'd have to have the AC turned on the whole day. 😩 So yeah, I'll just stick with living at the ground floor. I have enough space naman in my room.

I'm super excited to share the "after" of the room makeover. Wag na siguro yung "before" because there's too much clutter. 😆 NakakaOC!

Coffee Break

Whoa, it's been a while since I last had a cup of coffee. Stepped out for a quick coffee run and bought cookies and an iced Dark Caramel Latte at a friend's coffee shop because this girl isn't sleeping tonight until she finishes her essay exams. We've finally completed two modules. Yay! Our class's goal is to finish the program by December so we can hold the graduation at PAMET's annual convention in December. Exciting! Especially because we are the pilot batch. I am praying for the success of this program, as its goal is to improve the quality of services that laboratories provide.

Six Hugs!

Today, I started my week by completing all my homework and attending to some work-related tasks (Seriously, Icar, on a Sunday?) because I dislike cramming and hate having backlogs. Last week was the total opposite; I felt too lazy to even glance at my notes and finish the previous week's homework, because I still have two weeks to finish them. I blame the "time of the month" for turning me into a procrastinator. LOL.

That, plus what's up with the heat? Hasn't the season changed to Rainy Days yet? Philippines has become a 24-7 sauna. Ugh. It makes me crave SB's Chai Frappucino with Oat Milk a lot.

OMG, it's June! We're halfway through the year! I'm uncertain if I'll be able to travel to Japan for my birthday because tickets are so expensive hahahuhu, the struggle is real. With only four months left until October, and if I do go, I must make the most of it to ensure a fulfilling overall Japan experience. The food, activities, landscapes, architecture, culture, etc. Huhu!

Dear Friend,

This year doesn't need to be about productivity, but I hope it allows you the space to do what you desire and find joy in those things!

Sending you six hugs— one hug for each month, lol. It might not make sense, I am just weird like that.
