I don’t know if this counts as oversharing, but I’d like to share how I manage to get chores done despite my laziness.
I clean my bathroom, do the laundry, and change my beddings once a week (on weekends). To keep laziness at bay, I break each task in half, ensuring I finish everything within the day.
First, I remove the beddings, clear out everything in the bathroom, and load the laundry. Then, I take out the clothes I washed the previous day, wash the dishes, and prepare lunch.
Afterward, I fold the clothes, hang the new laundry, and scrub every corner of the bathroom until it’s squeaky clean. Next, I shower, put on fresh beddings, turn on the AC, and—ahh—rest.
There are days when my beddings still feel clean and comfy, so I stretch it for another day or two. (Okay, maybe I’m just too lazy to deal with five pillowcases, a bedsheet, and a duvet cover. π) When that happens, I end up changing them on a weekday. To make sure it gets done, I remove the beddings as soon as I wake up—forcing myself to put on new ones before bedtime. It’s me vs. me. I’ve been doing this for a while now, but I still get annoyed at my past self—the “me” from 12 hours ago.
You know that feeling: getting home after a tiring day at work, seeing a mountain of dishes to wash, finally taking a shower, and thinking you can relax in your comfy bed… only to remember you still need to put on the beddings. Keep in mind that I have to deal with 5 pillowcases (used to be 7 π but the lazy me wpuld always regret, so I had to Mari Kondo 2 pillows), a bedsheet and a duvet cover... a freaking duvet cover. But of course I have been doing a life hack with the duvet. HAHAHAHAHA. At least, I got things done.
